Sanity is the state of conscious awareness wherein Distortion is minimised. It is synonymous with Perspective, Discernment & clarity. Sanity is the state of conscious awareness wherein one can discern between Fear & Danger, Pain & Injury and Discomfort & Loss.
It is the state of consciousness wherein one is most inclined to moderate and update one’s Predictive Model, in the interests of better aligning with reality. It is the state of consciousness wherein one’s Stance is inclined towards Being / Love rather than Non-Being / Fear. Sanity is amenable to Reason. Sanity preferences what is True versus what is Convenient to believe.
Sanity is related to the Hermetic concept of Nous and the concept of Stillness.
Sanity, is not an achieved state of mental health, it is a constant practice, and the losing of sanity is not the domain of the mad or senile. It is the everyday predicament we fall into, when in our anger, or our wholesale attachment to the thoughts and feelings, we lose perspective and we suffer a kind of forgetfulness of what truly matters most.
